Publication: The Forest Service and Communities: The Relationships Between Land and People in the Pacific Northwest Region
This joint project was completed by a team at University of Oregon and the US Forest Service Pacific NW Region.
Although this is specific to Oregon and Washington, the data, and visual displays are applicable across regions. The team used over a dozen different Forest Service databases to provide information at both the forest and regional level, about regional social conditions, contracts, restoration work, forest collaboratives, agency partners, and integrated restoration. They also experimented with new spatial data, and connecting data to communicate the relationships between the Forest Service and communities.
