Our Fellows Program provides funding, training, and a community of practice for a cohort of students, faculty, and practitioners to complete collaborative projects.

We embody the transformative power of collaboration in conservation by bridging learning, practice, and collaborative capacity.

Becoming a Fellow is a competitive process, requiring the submission of a proposal (proposals due by October 10, 2025). A committee of CCC staff and partners with expertise in collaborative conservation will review proposals.

Past Fellows projects have included:
  • Working with a group of stakeholders to do on-the-ground conservation, such as a restoration, social science, or citizen science project.
  • Building the capacity of a group of stakeholders to collaboratively address a conservation issue. This type of project might include convening, training, planning, creating tools (such as an app, social network map, photovoice, etc.), doing outreach, or other activities.
  • Co-produce research that sheds light on how to do collaborative conservation.

We’re offering virtual information sessions to help you explore the program and strengthen your application:

  • September 10, 2025 – 12:00–1:00 PM MT
  • September 18, 2025 – 5:00–6:00 PM MT
  • October 3, 2025 – 9:00–10:00 AM MT

Can’t make a session? No problem. Applicants can also schedule a 45-minute one-on-one meeting to discuss their project ideas, get feedback on their proposal, or ask questions.
